Purchased new CR-V back in 2012 and have been following maintenance as the work codes pop up on the dashboard. I use a pressure system meant to bleed brakes that works awesome, but not many people have one of these, nor know they can make coolant changes a one shot and done breeze. Especially if you're about to take a long trip. Air bubbles in the system can become death to your car. Look to the forums or youtube for "burping" the system. I know some manufacturers offer ready to pour in coolant and that's fine in my book, even if a little more expensive. Distilled water doesn't have "stuff" in it to taste good but clog the system. Not tap water, not spring water, not natural water. If it's a concentrated coolant, buy distilled water. The parts guy will ask for your year, model and give you the right stuff. My thoughts are that since OEM from a dealer coolant is maybe all of $2 more than a generic, it's giving you the correct coolant for sure. There's the infamous GM (garbage) orange lifetime coolant that destroys iron components, there's Toyota red coolant, there's Subaru blue coolant along with a bottle of conditioner, then there's generic green coolant. Why do I say that? Various makes/models have differing coolant requirements. A garage charging $170 to do this is a ripoff.Ĭonsider doing it yourself. No tools and takes literally 5 minutes other than jacking up the car and rechecking the level. Note that unlike some domestics, most Honda's don't require any special techniques to air bleed the system - since the hoses and radiator are oriented so the filler is above the level of the engine block. If you really want to be thorough there should be a drain on the bottom of the overflow reservoir as well. Pour the used antifreeze into one of the jugs you emptied and take it back to the store or a local recycling center. Double check the level and top off as needed.ĩ. Loosely reinstall the radiator cap, start the engine and let it run till warm (fan runs). Open the radiator cap and pour in new antifreeze until its full.Ħ. You can open the drain plug by hand and let the fluid drain outĥ. Underneath the car behind the front bumper there is a plastic drain plug on the bottom of the radiator. Open the hood and loosen the radiator capĢ. All you need is 1-2 gallons of coolant and a pan to collect whats drained.ġ. The job itself is about the easiest maintenance item to do, it doesn't even require tools if you have enough space to reach under without jacking up the car. Very easy to find, even my local NAPA carries it or you can get it online: Less than 2 gal required.įor Honda's the safest option is to use the OEM: Honda Type 2. Walmart has a Valvoline coolant for Honda for under 13 bucks a gallon. Regular stuff will eat up water pump over time. Just make sure you use Silicate Free coolant. I have already been spreading the word on how cool your service is and encouraging people to check it out.Easy DIY job. :) I sincerely appreciate the opportunity your company provides for these skilled men to operate as independent contractors and earn at a level that reflects their value yet is so reasonable for their clients. Travel Association found that a record 768 million vacation days went unused in the previous year, with 55 percent of workers reporting they didn’t take all the paid time off their job offered. That is why there are 52 tool cards. Why don’t Americans take time off - especially those fortunate enough to have paid vacation?Ī 2019 study by the U.S. Remember that even positive-time-out is not always the most effective parenting tool to help children learn self-discipline, responsibility, problem-solving skills, and other valuable social and life skills. Choose another Positive Discipline Tool Card Using these tools early will help develop important life skills for calming down and cooling off. If a child isn't old enough to design his own positive-time-out area, he is not old enough to understand any kind of time-out-even positive time-out. For this age group we recommend helping them calm down in the moment by sitting in your lap, holding a favorite blanket or pillow, or counting slowly and coaching how to take deep breaths together to calm down. It could also take place by taking deep breaths, counting to ten (or 100), meditating on how much you love your child, etc. Instead of asking your child if it would help her to go to her feel good place, just go to your own. Going to your own positive time-out may be the best place to start during a conflict. Of course it is a good idea for you to have your own positive time-out area so you can model this self-regulation skill. During a conflict you might say, “Would it help you to go to your ‘feel good place?” If your child says, “No,” ask, “Would you like me to go with you?” (Often this is encouraging to a child and helps increase a connection, as well as calming down.) If your child still says, “No,” (or is having such a temper tantrum, she can’t even hear you,) say, “Okay, I’m going to my time-out place.” What a great model for your children. Then allow your child to "choose" to go to his positive time-out instead of being sent. A child (or students in a classroom) design a "positive time-out area" filled with pleasant things to help them calm down until they can access their rational brains and "Do Better."Īfter they have designed their "positive time-out area," they can give it another name such as "my space," or my "my cool off spot." Giving positive time-out another name helps eliminate the negative feelings of punitive time-out." When children are sent to punitive time-out, they are likely to be thinking, "I won't get caught next time." "I'll get even." Or, worst of all, "I'm bad." This is why the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) is very much against punitive time-out. These decisions help create a child's personality (even though many are made at a subconscious level). or not), and then decisions about what they will do in the future. It doesn’t work for children any more than it would work for adults.Ĭhildren are always making decisions about themselves (am I good or bad, capable or not capable, etc.), decisions about others, (are they supportive, friendly, etc. Where did we ever get the crazy idea that we have to make children feel bad before they will do better? This crazy idea is the basis for punitive time-out. I’m feeling so encouraged and empowered and can hardly wait to do better.” Not likely. Is there any chance that you would say, “Oh, thank you so much. You are grounded for a week.” In either of these scenario’s what would you be thinking, feeling, and deciding. And don’t come out until I say you can.” Or, if you are married, imagine your spouse coming to you and saying, “I don’t like your behavior. Imagine you are an employee who has made a mistake, and your boss comes to you and says, “You go to time-out and think about what you have done. You must go on line at 0700 the day before and purchase the passes for $125 per person. We were able to acquire day passes while in port on the Norwegian EPIC. It's a great amenity for guests, however if you're not staying at the Renaissance there are beaches that are just as nice without the rocky sand. The main attraction is the flamingos which have to be the most Instagrammed animals on the planet. Many people were staying at the Renaissance for one night to utilize the island and then they moved to other hotels. The island is filled with iguanas who are very curious. It was a very brief and light massage that we did not feel was up to par. We got a couple's massage which I must admit was not worth it. We ordered food, and they brought out a cake for my girlfriend's birthday. This is great for photo opps and to relax. The deluxe suite also had a large swing that seated us comfortably. It also comes with some snorkeling gear, boogie boards, and a shower. The suite has a couple of electrical outlets for your phones or bluetooth speakers. I unfortunately don't remember the gentlemen that attended our cabana but they were both attentive and accommodating with their service, and even taking pictures of us as well as lending out chargers for devices. They imprinted my name on the sand and the suite comes with still and sparkling water, sparkling wine, and a fruit platter. I rented the deluxe cabana on the Flamingo (adults only) side for my girlfriend's birthday. The private cabanas are only available to guests of the hotel. I wouldn't say the guest pass is worth $125 per person since all you can do is sit on the beach. The sand is very rocky so I would definitely recommend water shoes. The beach itself is beautiful, especially at sunset. They can be temperamental, but they will be eating out of your hand once they earn your trust. The island sells cat food (that's what they eat) for you to feed to the flamingos. The island has a family side (Iguana) and an adults only side (Flamingo) which is where the famous flamingos come out. The ride to the island is about 3 minutes. The ferry to the island is a less than 10 minute walk from the hotel lobby. We are already talking about a return to this magical place. You can't go wrong with any of the food and drink offerings either at the restaurant on the island or the fish shack grill. I know it's vacation but you can get up once right? Take quarters with you because the flamingo food dispenser takes quarters. This is also the most likely time that the flamingos will eat out of your hand. Take the first boat over to the island at 7AM if you want the best photo opps. His positive energy just shines and is contagious! Now for tips. Ludwig is a perfect example of the islands motto One Happy Island. He was friendly and told me about a great nearby attraction which we say. Robert who helped us check in to cabana for the day was wonderful. She had great restaurant recommendations for us to try in area. Margareth often wears a different colored flower in her hair and is so friendly. She was amazing from her different flamingo socks every day to her sparkling personality. I have start with Sugelry or "Sugar" which she goes by. It is obvious they enjoy their job and it shows. I can't express how much these folks care about their guests. My wife and I spent a week at the Renaissance Ocean Suites and went to the island every day. Renaissance Island is a wonderful experience in so many ways! Even with all of its beauty and ways to enjoy it is important to start with the staff. We relaxed on the beach, swam, snorkeled, and fed the flamingos. There is a nice open air restaurant where we had breakfast. Children are only allowed there at specific times. The flamingos wander around and you can feed them food from a machine that costs a quarter. There are lots of chairs and umbrellas on both beaches. The family beach is much larger and spread out. There are 2 beaches one for families, and one for adults only, which is where the flamingos are. At the island you can get towels, chairs, floats, snorkel gear, sand toys, etc. We were taken to the island by a water taxi, which runs back and forth from the hotel on a regular basis. Hotel guests can visit the island free of charge, but other visitors can purchase a day pass. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel for 1 night before moving to our timeshare for the week. I had heard good things about Renaissance Island, so when we went to Aruba, we decided to check it out. We preferred bras that could be returned or exchanged within 14 days (and ideally longer) to ensure a better fit. Return policy: Almost all of the brands we considered offered free returns.Style and materials: We made a point to consider bras with a wide variety of cup styles and materials (from cotton to spandex to Chantilly lace) that we felt would look flattering on a multitude of bodies.Size and color options: We preferred (though it wasn’t a requirement) bras that come in (at least) sizes A to DDD with a 32- to 40-inch band (or XS to XXXL for bralettes), and at least two shades of nude.Mainstay styles: We chose not to test any limited-edition bras (like those from Savage x Fenty) because they tend to sell out quickly and get replaced with different styles.Testers of all sizes, from A to F cups, thought it was the most comfortable push-up bra they tried (though the Classic Uplift we also recommend gives this one a run for its money). The band and straps are both adjustable, and the straps can also be positioned as a cross-back, so it’ll work with more types of tops. Its band is well proportioned and supportive, despite having no underwire. Some push-up bras we tried felt stiff and overly stuffed, whereas the True Body’s cups were soft and flexible (though they’re thicker than those of most other bras we recommend-it is a push-up bra, after all). They’re lightly filled with a soft layer of foam padding that’s concentrated toward the bottom to provide more lift. The cups have elegant, curvaceous lines that dip low in the front to accommodate plunging necklines. The material feels smooth and delicate yet durable, like it’ll hold up to significant wear. The True Body feels sturdily made-we didn’t detect any flimsy seams or other imperfections in the construction. Second-order cone programming (SOCP) is a convex program, and includes certain types of quadratic programs.Such a constraint set is called a polyhedron or a polytope if it is bounded. Linear programming (LP), a type of convex programming, studies the case in which the objective function f is linear and the constraints are specified using only linear equalities and inequalities. This can be viewed as a particular case of nonlinear programming or as generalization of linear or convex quadratic programming. Convex programming studies the case when the objective function is convex (minimization) or concave (maximization) and the constraint set is convex. Other notable researchers in mathematical optimization include the following: ( Programming in this context does not refer to computer programming, but comes from the use of program by the United States military to refer to proposed training and logistics schedules, which were the problems Dantzig studied at that time.) Dantzig published the Simplex algorithm in 1947, and John von Neumann developed the theory of duality in the same year. Dantzig, although much of the theory had been introduced by Leonid Kantorovich in 1939. The term " linear programming" for certain optimization cases was due to George B. Operators arg min and arg max are sometimes also written as argmin and argmax, and stand for argument of the minimum and argument of the maximum.įermat and Lagrange found calculus-based formulae for identifying optima, while Newton and Gauss proposed iterative methods for moving towards an optimum. Many real-world and theoretical problems may be modeled in this general framework.į ( x 0 ) ≥ f ( x ) ⇔ − f ( x 0 ) ≤ − f ( x ), , where k ranges over all integers. Such a formulation is called an optimization problem or a mathematical programming problem (a term not directly related to computer programming, but still in use for example in linear programming – see History below). Given: a function f : A → ℝ from some set A to the real numbers Sought: an element x 0 ∈ A such that f( x 0) ≤ f( x) for all x ∈ A ("minimization") or such that f( x 0) ≥ f( x) for all x ∈ A ("maximization"). They can include constrained problems and multimodal problems.Īn optimization problem can be represented in the following way:
